Dear Candidate

Thank you for your interest in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and these two Non-Executive Director roles. It is an exciting time to be joining our Trust; we are a values-led organisation committed to working as an integral partner within the emerging Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care System and taking on new regional responsibilities and services.  We are committed to becoming a culturally intelligent organisation and we have some significant transformation programmes ongoing across our estates along with a real focus on continuous improvement. 

Our recent staff survey results are amongst the highest nationally and demonstrate that our workforce feel engaged and empowered.  We are very proud of the quality of services we provide, and our vision is to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives by improving their health and wellbeing.  We can only achieve this vision by attracting and retaining the very best colleagues.

As members of our unitary Board, our new two Non-Executive Directors will bring support and constructive challenge and help lead the strategic direction of the Trust.  For one of these roles we are seeking an experienced Non-Executive who will Chair our Finance and Performance Committee and offer significant financial and commercial acumen.  A financial qualification is not essential, we are interested in your broad experience of leadership and transformation in dynamic, person-centred organisations.  For the second position we are seeking a clinical leader who has operated at Board level or equivalent and who brings a strong focus on quality and a passion for the services that we provide, who will Chair our Quality and Safeguarding Committee. For experienced candidates applying for these roles there is the potential for one of the positions to additionally become my Deputy.  For both positions we are keen to hear from candidates from all sectors and welcome candidates with protected characteristics and/or lived experience of our services.   We are looking to engage great people with a passion for making a difference to people’s lives and those who recognise and share our values.
