Welcome from Ifti Majid, Chief Executive
Thank you for your interest in our Executive Medical Director role at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a really important position for our organisation and the successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in the Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care System.
We have a Good rating from the CQC and recently received the highest score nationally (in like trusts) in the annual staff survey for being safe and healthy, working flexibly and overall staff morale. We are now firmly focused on embedding a culture of continuous improvement in our services and outcomes, with a commitment to creating a culturally intelligent organisation which celebrates difference in our colleagues and supports everyone to achieve their full potential. Along with colleagues and partners across our health and care system we are working with our communities to improve health and wellbeing and to reduce the health inequalities that we know exist within our populations.
We have an exciting agenda with an increasing role in the ICS where I am the Chief Executive lead for the Provider Collaborative and more widely in the East Midlands Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Alliance where we are taking on commissioning for some specialist services. We have several significant programmes of work underway including the embedding of a new electronic patient record together with the development of two new state of the art psychiatric hospitals. We are a ‘people first’ organisation and our values are meaningful, committed to by our colleagues through a co-designed Team Derbyshire Healthcare Promise.
Our current Medical Director Dr John Sykes is retiring after a long and successful leadership career. We are now seeking a progressive and modern leader who will provide inspiration to our dedicated clinical teams; a person-centred and collaborative leader who role models our values and is visible and approachable; quickly able to navigate complex systems and build credibility with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally. Passionate about the provision of high quality, safe services and a champion for those who use our services, you will be an integral part of our leadership team working collectively shaping our priorities.
We warmly welcome applications from members of our vibrant and diverse communities. We have an inclusive culture, active staff networks and a commitment to equality and diversity at every level.
I hope you enjoy exploring this site and finding out more about us and this opportunity to be part of our exciting journey. Please do contact our recruitment partners at GatenbySanderson, Russell Brandon or Emma Pickup on 01962 864124 for an initial conversation about your interest.
